Brief History[edit | edit source]
The 1st Regiment, Mississippi Cavalry Reserves was also known as 1st Battalion Mississippi Cavalry Reserves [Denis']). It was commanded by Colonel Jules C. Denis, Lieutenant-Colonel D. W. Metts, and Major J. F. Meston.
- The 1st Battalion Mississippi Cavalry Reserves (Denis'), aka 1st Regiment Reserves (Denis') Internet site has a brief account of activities taken from Dunbar Rowland's Military History of Mississippi, 1803-1898.
