Purpose[edit | edit source]
The object of this Society shall be to educate by creating, fostering, and maintaining interest in genealogy; to assist and support the genealogy section of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in Dallas, Texas or to its legal successor; and to collect, preserve, copy, and index information relating to Dallas County and its early history.
Web Site[edit | edit source]
The DGS manages a web site that contains the following information:
- Newsletters prior to 2009 with articles of genealogical interest about the Dallas area
- Searchable database for many local cemeteries
- Early Dallas County Court records
- Calendar of Society events including general meeting, Special Interest Group sessions and Educational events
- Educational presentations
- Jewish research resources
