Brief History

The 10th Regiment, West Virginia Infantry organized at Camp Pickens, Canaan, Tucker County, West Virginia, Glenville, Gilmer County, West Virginia, Clarksville, Mecklinburg County, Virginia, Sutton, Braxton County, West Virginia, Philippi, Barbour County, West Virginia and Piedmont, Marshall County, West Virginia March 12 to May 18, 1862. It had duty near Richmond until August 1865, then mustered out August 9, 1865.
