  • Juan Nepomuceno de Atures was founded by Jesuit Father Francisco González in 1748.
  • This city grew very slowly until the 1960s, from the 1970s, a real explosion or growth took place, the result, especially at the beginning, of the internal migration of the same Territory, and later of the immigration of people from other neighboring states.
