British Empire Colonization (1885-1966)[edit | edit source]
Botswana, also known as British Bechuanaland, was annexed as a Crown Colony from 1885-1895. It then became the Bechuanaland Protectorate from 1895-1966. Botswana gained independence on 30 September 1966. [1]
