Known Issues[edit | edit source]

Question 1[edit | edit source]

Question 1: Some records are missing. Where can they be viewed?
Answer 1: See answers below for information about known missing records and their respective film numbers, if available, or alternate online location:

  • South Africa > Cape of Good Hope > Cape Town, Rondebosch, St Paul > Marriages 1907-1923 is missing pages 170 and 171 following image 87.
  • South Africa > Cape of Good Hope > Cape Town, Rondebosch, St Paul > Marriages 1907-1923 page 138 found on image 179 is partially covered by a certificate. The page is not available.
  • South Africa > Cape of Good Hope > Kimberley, Beaconsfield > Baptisms with index 1887-1897 is missing pages 132 and 133 following image 143. The pages are not available.

Question 2[edit | edit source]

Question 2: The Event Type and Year Range (waypoint) title does not properly reflect the actual digital record content. Is there a way to determine what digital records are likely to be found within a collection?
Answer 2: The following list of known waypoint discrepancies describes the event type or year range that actually exist in this collection:

  • South Africa > Cape of Good Hope > Cape Town, Bellville and Durbanville, All Saints > Baptisms 1859-1971 have been mislabeled as Baptisms instead of Marriages. There are no Baptism records.
  • South Africa > Cape of Good Hope > Cape Town, St Mark > Baptisms 1849-1903. The waypoint has a typographical error. The records are from 1894-1903 not 1849-1903.
  • South Africa > Cape of Good Hope > Kimberley, Barkly West, Klipdam and Windsorton > Marriages 1894-1903. This waypoint has been mislabeled. They are baptism records not marriages.
  • South Africa > Cape of Good Hope > Kimberley, St. Cyprian > Marriage banns 1871-1937. The waypoint name is misleading. The records start at 1910 and include records up to 1964. The records are not necessarily in chronological order.
  • South Africa > Natal > Natal, Mid-Illovo and Richmond, St Margaret > Baptisms 1898-1953, marriages 1913-1975 also has death records for the years 1896-1985
  • South Africa > Natal > Zululand, Melmoth, All Saints > Baptisms with index 1801-1982. The waypoint has a typographical error. The records are from 1901-1982.
