In the Archives.org search bar, search for the name of the regiment + the state: ex. "15th Regiment Alabama".

If no results show up, don't worry, books for every regiment have not been digitized. Type "no" in the URL link column of the task list and move onto the next line in the task list.

If you find a digitized history of the regiment, click on it, and copy the URL. <nowiki>*</nowiki>If multiple books are listed, you might need to click on the book to see if it is a history of the regiment. We're just including regiment histories '''not biographies'''. As seen in the example image, the one to the left is a regiment history and the ones on the right are autobiographies.

Paste the URL link into the appropriate spot on the spreadsheet. If there is more than one regiment history, paste both links into the spreadsheet.

On the Archive.org search results look to see if a collection of "Compiled Service Records" came up? If so, type "yes" in the spreadsheet. For some regiments multiple collections will appear. We don't need the URL links for the collections yet, we just need to know if they're out there.

Once you have pasted in the URL link for the regiment history, and said if there is a Compiled Service Records collection, you're done with that line. Move onto the next one!
