The town was name after Billy Crouch a homesteading miner, his land was near the Payette Rivers. Post office was opened in 1934 for the Army. In 1933 Roosevelt’s Tree Army came to town thousands participated in the Civilian Conservation Corps.The post office was opened so the mail could come closer to the troops.<br>
