French Colonization (1900-1960)[edit | edit source]

From 1900-1960, Chad was ruled under the French Colonial Empire. Chad became part of French Equatorial Africa in 1910, and in 1920, it became a separate colony under French Civilian administration. Chad declared independence from France in 1960. French and modern standard Arabic are the official languages. [1] [2]
