The Marin County Genealogical Society (MCGS), was formed in May 1977, and serves the residents of Marin County, California.[edit | edit source]

It is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that seeks to

  • Promote interest in family history through education and sound research methods.
  • Encourage stewardship of genealogical holdings.
  • Provide a forum to share genealogical information.
