Firth Idaho FamilySearch Center

This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.

The Firth Idaho Family History Center has been very popular

with local family history researchers since opening its doors. It is available to serve members of the community free of charge. The Center is open to the public and all are encouraged to visit and let us help you find your family history!

• Open other hours by appointment. For a reservation appointment, please contact the Temple and Family History Directors.
• We occasionally close unexpectedly because of inclement weather. Please call ahead during such events.

Collections

Databases and Software

• FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions. (Note to FHC: Not all FHCs have access to this portal. If you do not, you will want to remove this entire bullet. If you do have access to it, just remove this text in italics.)

Hardware and Equipment

• 12 Large Screen Patron Computers (recent models) in the main classroom
• 3 Large Screen Patron Computers (recent models) in the resource room
• 1 Multi-use black and white printer (color scanner and b/w printer)
• High definition scanner for quality image saving and uploading
• Overhead Projector and large screen (for easy classroom instruction)
• WiFi High Speed Internet access throughout building for patron computer
• Classroom style tables with computers for easy setup
• Wall Chalkboard for group analysis of ideas
• A  small collection of books containing biographies, research guidance materials, indexes, and databases
