Free 6-hour genealogy courses

Family History Basics will be taught over 3 sessions, for 2 hours/class.Learn how to find your ancestors through records, techniques and strategies. Topics include census and vital records, organizing your information, online databases, DNA and more. No registration is necessary, and is for beginning and intermediate levels.

Sunday, October 2, 2016: Genealogical Society of Broward County will present "Immigration". Mark Fearer will talk about the myths, history, resources and websites to help find your immigrant ancestors. The focus will be on peak immigration to the U.S. from the late 1800s to early 1900s.. It will be held at the Alvin Sherman Library, 2nd Floor, Nova Southeastern University. For times, directions and other details, go to the GSBC website.

The Genealogical Society of Broward County presents The History of Genealogy, by Mark Fearer - learn how and why genealogy was riddled with fraud and errors starting in the Middle Ages, how it evolved and how academia regards family history.
