The historical archive of the state of Baja California Sur "Pablo L. Martinez," named for the state's own renowned historian, has six main record collections or types:

The document collection contains more than 168,000 documents on more than 519 rolls of microfilm. There are also microfilms of other record types, such as:

  • American Consulates in La Paz, 1855-1906;
  • the National Archives of the Unites States, Washington, D.C. 5 rolls;
  • the newspaper La República 1882-1888. 1 rollo;
  • the newspaper El Nuevo Mundo 1865-1884. 1 rollo;
  • documents about the Jesuits in Baja California 1686-1793. 1 roll;
  • Piracy 1853-1874;
  • Military correspondence 1795-1820;
  • Letters of Diego de Borica and of Fernando de Rivera y Moncada;
  • Problemas indígenas en la misión de Santa Gertrudis 1768, Baja California; 1 roll,202 documents;
  • from the Bancroft Library, University of California. Historia de Baja California 1759-1773. 1 roll, 349 documents;
  • Historia de Baja California 1761-1773. 1 roll, 415 documentos, Archivo General de la Nación, México;
