Tennessee Civil War Union Cavalry Units

  • 8th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry (Union)
    Organized August, 1863, by consolidation of 5 Companies organized at Camp Nelson, Kentucky, June 30 to August 14, 1863, for 10th Tennessee Cavalry, and 7 Companies organized in Tennessee at large for 5th East Tennessee Cavalry.
    Mustered out September 11, 1865.
  • 14th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry (Union)
    Failed to complete organization. Those enlisted on duty on Nashville Northwestern Railroad, Dept. of the Cumberland, to February, 1865. Affair near Triune February 10, 1865. Scout from Nashville on Nolensville Pike February 15-16.
