Collection Description[edit | edit source]

The largest genealogical collection in the world—it is especially strong for the United States, British Isles, Scandinavia, Europe, Mexico, and parts of Germany, but also has material from all parts of the world. Includes civil vital births, marriages, and deaths, church records, county and local histories, court records, military records, probate records, passenger arrival lists, naturalization and land records. The large microfilm and book collections are being digitized and are showing up on www.familysearch.org.

Guest Resources[edit | edit source]

The Family History Library makes availabe many guest resources free of charge. These includes computers, digital film readers, microfilm readers, guest classes and webinars, access to subscription websites, and the assistance of professional research specialists and over 600 trained volunteers. Click the new Temple Square parking link to get information on where to park in and around Temple Square, including the Family History Library, parking hours and rate information, UTA Trax information, and more.

Request a "Vault Film" before Visiting[edit | edit source]

Microfilms and microfiche in the Granite Mountain Vault (Vault) may take several days to reach the Family History Library. If the Catalog shows a film/fiche is in the vault, order it ahead of time so it will be at the Library when you arrive.
