FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.


The Firth Idaho Family History Center has been very popular

with local family history researchers since opening it's doors. It is available to serve members of the community free of charge. The Center is open to the public and all are encouraged to visit and let us help you find your family history!

  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • (List additional collections you have such as the types of books and microfilm you have on indefinite loan; though you will not want to list every single item you have. Just give visitors to this page a general idea of your resources.)

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions. (Note to FHC: Not all FHCs have access to this portal. If you do not, you will want to remove this entire bullet. If you do have access to it, just remove this text in italics.)

  • 13 Large Screen Patron Computers (recent models)
  • 1 Multi-use black and white printer (color scanner and b/w printer)
  • High definition scanner for quality image saving and uploading
  • Overhead Projector and large screen (for easy classroom instruction)
  • WiFi High Speed Internet access through out building for patron computer
  • Classroom style tables with computers for easy setup
  • Wall Chalkboard for group analysis of ideas
