Task List

Instructions
[edit | edit source]

1. Go to the Task List and sign out a state to work on.

2. You will place the link on the state topic page for Probate if there is one, as well as on each county page for that state under the Probate heading.  If there is not a Probate heading on the county page, you will create one. You will sign out by state and place all links for the state you choose.

Adding The Link to the State Topic Page
[edit | edit source]

1.  You will find the link to the topic page on topic bar of the state page.

2.  It does not matter whether the link already appears somewhere on the Probate topic page, we are going to place it on the top of the page.

3.  You will create a Level 3 Heading named Online Records  and using wikitext place the records under that heading on the topic page.  It should be the first heading on the page.

4. In the Edit Summary Box put Added Probate Links and save your work.

5. Be sure to check your work to see that the links are placed properly on the page.

Adding the Links to the County Pages
[edit | edit source]

1.  Go to each county page for the state (using the list on the state page) and go to the heading Probate and in wikitext paste in the links just as you have copied them from the task page.  These records should go immediately after any intro and before any microfilm records or records held locally.

2.  If there is not a Probate heading on the page, create one, placing it alphabetically in the headings.

3.  If there are already records on the page and someone has created a subheading that says anything other than Online Probate Records, such as Online Records,  please change it to read Online Probate Records.

4.  In the edit summary box, again put Added Probate Links and save your work.

5.  Be sure to check your work to see that the links added properly on the pages.

Once you have completed the topic page and all of the county pages, go back to the task page and add a completed date under your name.
