Mark the Date- Global Family Reunion[edit | edit source]
June 6, 10:00 am to 3:00 p.m.[edit | edit source]
We are sponsoring a branch party of the Global Family Reunion. We will be having an open house at the Family History Center in connection with this special event. We will be offering mini-classes, one to one assistance, help signing up for Family Search and getting registered on all of the Partner websites, some live feeds from the Global Family Reunion, opportunities for scanning photos and documents directly to Family Search of on a flashdrive, opportunities to record and upload audio to Family Search, and a special children's section of activities and games. You don't want to miss out on this opportunity to be a part of the Global Family Reunion and enjoy part of your day with your family at the Family History Center. Something for everyone! See you there.
For more information about the Global Family Reunion, check out their website http://globalfamilyreunion.com/
New Group Class Requests[edit | edit source]
We are not scheduling a lot of classes during the evenings. This will allow for Young Men, Young Women, Relief Society, or families to arrange special classes for their groups. If you have a group who would like a special class, contact Tammy 431-4504 or Sharon 670-4400 or your Ward Family History Consultant to arrange for them to teach. Or call the Family History Center to reserve the basement classroom for use by your group in working together on your own projects. We had 11 computers in the basement with full access to the portal (all the free websites available only at Family History Centers.) And enough table space for more at least ten more people with their own laptops or devices. It's more fun working together and sharing our discoveries!

* Something new! Brown Bag Lunch Days!
Don't think you have time for Family History. How about during our lunch hour? Bring your lunch and learn a little Family History on your lunch hour. We will start at 12:10 pm and watch one of the recordings from the Roots Tech Conference. Most of the recordings are an hour long. If you don't have a full hour, come and get what you can and finish the video at home. Come enjoy your lunch, enjoy the company, and enjoy learning a little more about Family History.
On Going Classes- We will be offering the following classes at various times on an ongoing basis. Sign up at the Family History Center to receive an e-mail of the calendars and newsletters. Handouts are available for most of the classes being offered. If you can't attend a class and would like the handouts- ask one of the consultants at the center for assistance. We also have a dropbox with a ton of handouts, power points and other helps for family history. Contact Tammy or Sharon at the Ward Consultant Classes for the link.
Class Descriptions[edit | edit source]
Family Search and Family Tree Specific Classes
Come and learn one concept of Family Search or Family Tree, master that concept and continue on with another class. We have noted whether the class is beginner, intermediate or advanced. Don't be scared away by the classification of intermediate and advanced. As you progress along your Family History journey, you will be ready for a little more challenging class and so you move to the next level. Most importantly we don't want people to come to a class and be overwhelmed with the concepts and quit coming. We are trying to help people select the class level best suited to their abilities.
