Civil registration was established in Bavaria January 1, 1876. In the left areas of the Rhine we find civil registration as early as 1808. Civil registration is part of the local administration. All births, marriages and deaths were registered in books. The civil registration offices replaced the parish registrations.

Civil registration was established in Bavaria January 1, 1876. In the left areas of the Rhine we find civil registration as early as 1808. Civil registration is part of the local administration.
