The 16th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry was organized at Paducah, Kentucky, September, 1863. The regiment was near Rheatown, Duvall's Ford, Watauga River, September 30. It was consolidated with the 12th Kentucky Cavalry per Special Order No. 127, War Department October 15, 1864.[1]
