The Mihoaukee Trail was traveled by Illinois and Wisconsin settlers from 1820-1835. The trail began at the end of the Detroit-Chicago Road and ended with a connection to Pecatonica Trail. Counties covered by the Mihoaukee Trail were Cook and Lake, Illinois. In Wisconsin it covers Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee, Washington, and Fond du Lac counties.
