This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.

Marin Family History Center The Marin Family History Center is located in San Rafael, one-half mile past the Civic Center, on the southeast corner of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are full-service library, staffed 20 hours a week by a range of volunteers with varied backgrounds, many of whom are professional genealogists on loan from the Marin Genealogical Society. Please stop by anytime--it's a library, so you don't need an appointment, don't need to be a member of the genealogical society or the church. Over 90% of people who walk in off the street find their ancestors on the first day!

• Large collection of books, especially books about the history of various local areas
  plus many purchased CDs of records that aren't yet on the internet

• FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

• There is at all times a volunteer on staff from the Marin County Genealogical Society
