Brief History

The 6th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry was organized at Camp Randall, Madison, Wisconsin, and it was mustered in July 16, 1861.It went to Washington, D. C., in May and was in the Grand Review May 23. It was moved to Louisville, Kentucky, June 17.It was mustered out July 2, 1865.
