This is a project to help professional genealogists market themselves for free on FamilySearch Wiki.
FamilySearch Wiki will get you noticed [edit | edit source]
- In 2009, FamilySearch Wiki is on schedule to attract twice as many visitors as the Family History Library, even without doing any marketing or integrating with FamilySearch.org.
- FamilySearch Wiki will become a tab on FamilySearch.org in 2009, spiking traffic to the wiki.
- In 2009, FamilySearch will begin large-scale marketing of the wiki. Read: more crazy spikes in traffic.
- As of April 2009, FamilySearch Wiki gets 75% of its traffic from search engines.
Appropriate marketing on FamilySearch Wiki[edit | edit source]
- Post your education, credentials, experience, and professional associations on your user page.
- Attach sub-pages to your user page which include featured services, examples of client reports, and customer testimonials.
Inappropriate marketing on FamilySearch Wiki[edit | edit source]
- Don't add an entry to a page like Ohio Vital Records that says "Joe Genius is a professional genealogist who does fee-based vital records lookups in Ohio vital records. Click here to go to his user page and see his services and fee schedule."
