What's New at the Center[edit | edit source]
ArkivDigital Online[edit | edit source]
- We have installed ArkivDigital online on all center computers. This will allow anyone researching Swedish genealogy to have access to Swedish Church Records online. Included are about 40 millions of color images of church records and other historical records. According to their website at www.arkivdigital.se/online:
- "Photo archive currently consists of 47,515,743 digital images in color on different records as church records and inventories. Approximately 600,000 new color images are added every month."
- We hope this proves to be a useful addition to our service to patrons. Please come in and try out this new feature.
Update on Scanner[edit | edit source]
- Our Canon scanner-reader-printer has been out of commission due to a power supply in the machine failing. We have been working on a solution and now have an update.
- The scanner-reader-printer will be removed from the Center. To replace the unit, we have ordered two digital camera kits which will be mounted on the existing microfilm readers in the center. These will allow patrons to take photographs of images on the readers and then download them onto a flash drive, print them, or send them via email.
- We hope to have these kits by the end of the month. We'll keep this section updated and report when they have been received.
