Collection Description[edit | edit source]One of America's best genealogical collections. Especially strong for Texas and adjoining states.[2] USA and state materials, Texas and Houston area death records including funeral home records, censuses, passenger arrival lists, manuscripts, International resources for Europe, Canada, and Mexico, military records, family histories, genealogical periodicals, maps, family history vertical files, and Family History Library Affiliate Program.[3] Their special collections includes 25 major genealogical collections, such as the Barbour, Blake, Draper Manuscript, and Vosburgh collections, Loredo TX Archives 1749-1872, and Nacagdoches TX Archives 1733-1836.[4] The Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research is part of the Houston (TX) Public Library System.
