FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.


The Cheyenne Family History Center is located in the Cheyenne Wyoming Stake Center, at the corner of Western Hills & Education Drive, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Entrance is at the Southeast corner of the building. The public is invited to use the resources free of charge. The Center is dedicated to providing education and support for the family history community in the Cheyenne area.

Did you know that you can access Ancestry.com at our Family History Center? We will introduce some good search strategies for getting the most out of this website and look at some of the valuable record collections it contains. Both beginners and seasoned researchers will learn something new. Class length: one class

Census record or birth certificate? Immigration records or naturalization papers? Ready to start some basic research to find new information and verify existing data on your ancestors? We will give you a process to follow and teach some tools that will help you in your search. We will also introduce you to some great research websites. Interested in knowing more about that “name” in your family tree? If part of you has been shaped by your parents, and part of them was shaped by their parents, learning about your ancestors can reveal a great deal about ourselves. Hardware and Equipment[edit | edit source]

  • 11 networked computer workstations with printer access
  • 1 microfilm reader
  • 1 microfiche reader
  • 1 microfiche/film scanner

Class/Training Room[edit | edit source]

  • Main room has 9 computer stations for hands-on use by class members plus a computer, projector and teaching station for the instructor.
  • Microfilm room has 2 additional computer stations, well suited for one-on-one assistance.
  • Both rooms have printer access for all stations.

  • Genealogy database software (Ancestral Quest, Family Insight, Legacy, PAF, RootsMagic)
  • Family History Library Catalog: This Center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the Family History Library Catalog.
