This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1864.
HEDON, or Heydon (St. Augustine), an incorporated town and a parish, possessing separate jurisdiction, and formerly a representative borough and a market-town, in the union of Sculcoates, locally in the Middle division of the wapentake of Holderness, E. riding of York, 44 miles (E. S. E.) from York, and 179 (N. by E.) from London; containing 998 inhabitants. Here are places of worship for Baptists, Independents, and Wesleyans, and a Roman Catholic chapel. [1]
