DOWN, EAST (St. John the Baptist), a parish, in the union of Barnstaple, hundred of Braunton, Braunton and N. divisions of Devon, 6¾ miles (N. N. E.) from Barnstaple. The parish comprises 3159 acres, of which 62 are common or waste.
