West Virginia University has a sizable collection of maps. The Family History Library also has several West Virginia maps. A set of detailed topographic maps published 1911-1919 is on Family History Library film 163986.

A helpful statewide atlas is:

New Descriptive Atlas of West Virginia. Clarksburg, West Virginia: Clarksburg Publishing Company, 1933. (Family History Library film 1425710.)

United States Census Bureau State and County Map. This map will allow you to zoom in on any state or county in the United States and read the names of all of the neighboring counties.
