==History of the society==
''The Roscommon County Genealogical Society was incorporated in October 1999, as a non-profit organization for the purpose of identifying and collecting historical information and preserving family genealogies and histories. Since it's inception in 1999, the Society has accumulated extensive resources of historical value, local, national, and international. In June of 2000, the Society with the support of Denton Township established a Research and Education Center, open to the public, to house its genealogical resources of microfilms, microfiche, CD's, DVD's, books, maps, files, and local collections, as well as provide a facility where these resources may be utilized by the public. Volunteers are available to aid in research, answer questions, and give instruction at the Center during operating hours and by appointment.''
