Latin Names: In projects where the entry is written in Latin, there will be various endings on the names of the child, father, and mother.

Information has been added about indexing Latin names under Indexing Unfamiliar Names.

Latin Names: In projects where the entry is written in Latin, there will be various endings on the names of the child, father, and mother. • Names will end in -us, -um,- i for males and –a, -am, -ae for females. o If you can determine what the root name is, for example Maria, Katharina, drop the –m or –e. o For male names such as Paul, Albert, drop the –us, or –um, or –i.|}
