GOADBY, a chapelry, in the parish and union of Billesdon, hundred of Gartree, S. division of the county of Leicester, 8 miles (N. by E.) from Market Harborough.[1]

In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Goadby like this:
