Oringally these were two separate ancient parishes that were joined in 1849. It is also known as "Luddington in the Brook" according to Youngs "Guide to Local Administrative Units of England".

Luddington-in-the-Brook (St. Andrew), is a parish, in the union of Oundle, it is partly in the hundred of Leightonstone, Huntingdonshire, but mostly in Polebrook, which is in the northern division of the Northamptonshire, it is 6 miles S E from Oundle. The parishes of Hemington and Luddington were lost and became one parish in 1849.[1] [2]
