Parish History[edit | edit source]
This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1559.
Preston is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, in an area known as Holderness. It is situated approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Hull city centre it lies just north of the A1033 road on the crossroads between the B1240 and B1362 roads.
The civil parish is formed by the village of Preston and the hamlet of Salt End.
Other places in the parish include: Lelleydale and Lelley
PRESTON (All Saints), a parish, in the unions of Sculcoates and Skirlaugh, Middle division of the wapentake of Holderness, E. riding of York; containing, with the township of Lelley, 1082 inhabitants, of whom 946 are in Preston township, 7 miles (E. by N.) from Hull. There are places of worship for Primitive Methodists and Wesleyans. [1]
