Starting in 1790, federal population schedules were taken every 10 years in the United States. However, the 1790 Census for Virginia was lost. In 1800, only the counties, Accomack[1] and Louisa have census records that exist. They are not included in the regular 1800 Census databases. The 1810 Census enumeration for Virginia is missing the following counties: Grayson, Greenbrier, Halifax, Hardy, Henry, James City, King William, Lee, Louisa, Mecklenburg, Nansemond, Northampton, Orange, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Russell, Tazewell.[2] Click here for more information about federal census records. |
