Article description: (description) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | There are five geographical regions (landsdeler) in Norway and multiple population districts (distrikter). These places are often referred to in records and biographical sources. Many have deep historical roots, and only partially coincide with today's administrative units of counties and municipalities. The districts are defined by geographical features, often valleys, mountain ranges, fjords, plains, or coastlines, or combinations of the above. Many such regions were petty kingdoms up to the early Viking age. |
