Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | The 57th Alabama Infantry Regiment was organized at Troy, in Pike County, in March, 1863, as part of the brigade of Gen'l James H. Clanton. It was stationed at Mobile and Pollard until January 1864 then joined the Army of the Tennessee in time to share fully the hardships of the Dalton-Atlanta campaign.Transferred to North Carolina where it surrendered.[1] |
