The 12th Kentucky Infantry was organized in October, 1861 at Camp Clio, Pulaski County, Kentucky, under Col. W.A. Hoskins, and mustered in the United States service on January 30, 1862. It was engaged in the following named battles in which loss was sustained: Stone River, Chickamauga, and all battles of the Atlanta campaign.[1]
