From 1907 to 1949, it was the Dominion of Newfoundland and relatively autonomous from British rule. Newfoundland and Labrador was enumerated on the 1871 Canada census as a part of Quebec. In the 1911 Canada census, it was a part of the Northwest Territories enumeration. |
