About Us[edit | edit source]

Description:	The Jennie D. Hayner Memorial Library opened on May 21, 1891. The architect for the building was Theodore C. Link, designer of the Union Station Railroad Depot in St. Louis, Missouri. Between 1891 and 1970, the building housed the entire library collection. In 1970, it became the Children's Library and in 2011, the building opened as the Genealogy & Local History Library.
Membership:	A library card issued from an Illinois Heartland Library System member library provides access to the computers. Guest passes are available with a photo ID. Materials at the Genealogy & Local History Library do not circulate, but staff will make copies of most materials.
