The majority of records of individuals were those created by the agencies. Some records may be available to tribal members through the tribal headquarters.They were (and are) the local office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and were charged with maintaining records of the activities of those under their responsibility. Reservations
The Yerington Colony and Campbell Ranch is located in Lyon County, near Yerington, in western Nevada. Yerington Colony was established 18 May 1916 by Act (39 Stat.123) and (39 Stat. 143) and two additional purchases of land. The Campbell Ranch near the Colony was purchased by the tribe in three separate purchases in 1936, 1941, and 1979[1].
