Purpose[edit | edit source]
- Replacing some links in the infoboxes located on Historical Records collections Wiki pages.

- Note: All historical Records articles are protected to keep users from editing them. If you would like to do this project, message Danielle in Yammer and she will give you the appropriate rights to edit these pages.
Step One - Sign Up[edit | edit source]
- Go to the task list and sign your name next to a Historical Records Wiki page.
- Click on the link and it will open the Historical Records Collection Wiki page.
Step Two - Click on Edit Source[edit | edit source]
- At the top of the Historical Records Collections Wiki page, click on Edit Source.
Step Three - Find Correct Line[edit | edit source]
- Use ctrl + F and look for the wikitext code below to locate the correct line.

Step Four - Go to Another Wiki Page[edit | edit source]
- Go to this Wiki page: List of Infoboxes - by Country
- Locate the country for the Wiki page you are working on. For example, if the Wiki page is: Albania Census, 1930 - FamilySearch Historical Records, do a ctrl + F and search for Albania. It will eventually take you down to the Albania template code.
Step Five - Copy the Wikitext[edit | edit source]
- Copy the code starting with FS_URL_1 to the FS_URL line that has a link. For example, copy the following wikitext code from the American Samoa template from line 1 to 5:
Step Six - Paste on the HR Coll. Wiki Page[edit | edit source]
- Go back to the Historical Records Collection page on the other tab and locate the same section you just copied.
- Put the curser above the other FS_URL_ links and paste the links you just copied from the User:SvareJM/Sandbox/Infoboxes Wiki page.
Step Seven - Compare the new links with the old Links[edit | edit source]
- The links you just copied and pasted on this page should be on the page. You will compare the new links with the old links by doing the following:
- 1. Remove the old link for any that are duplicated.
- 2. Leave on the new list of links is not on the page
- 4. Change the numbering of links wikitext code so that there is only one number for each line. They should remain in chronological order.
- 3. Leave on any other links in the list that were not in the new list.
- 4. These links do not have to be in any particular order.
- 5. Remove any links that are going to the FamilySearch Catalog.
Step Eight - Preview the Page[edit | edit source]
- Click Show Preview to make sure it looks good and the link works.
- Enter in the following in the summary:
Added Online Learning link - project
- Click Save Changes.
Step Nine - Go back to the Task List[edit | edit source]
- Go to the Task List and add the date next to your name.
- Sign up for a new historical records collection page to work on: Task List.
