County Information

Description

The county was named for Guadalupe Victoria. The county is located in the southeast area of the state.[1] Colonization started in 1824 mainly by Mexican settlers. The first settlement was in 1720 which consisted of a Spanish mission and presidio.

It is the designated repository for the Indianola Immigrant Database.
From 1844 to 1886 Indianola was a significant German immigrant port for Texas.
