Brief Timeline

1846: Applegate Trail opened, the trail went through the Cow Creek's homeland

1852: Gold discovered on Jackson Creek in southern Oregon

1853: Treaty, land ceded

1856: Removed to Grand Ronde Reservation in Yamhill County

1982: Federally recognized
