Türkiye, formally the Republic of Türkiye, is located in Europe and the Middle East and is bordered by Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. It was a central part of the Ottoman Empire for centuries before becoming an independent republic in 1923. The official language is Turkish.[1] The Turkish government provides a free genealogical service for all Turkish citizens called "Lineal Kinship Inquiry" and is accessible through the government website.
