History

Tavernole already existed in the 12th century.

Jurisdictions:

  • In 1426, it came under the control of the Serenissima (Republic of Venice).
  • In 1927, the towns of Pezzoro, Cimmo, and Marmentino were aggregated to Tavernole.
  • In 1955, Marmentino regained its autonomy.

Major events:

  • In 1850, a flood of the Mella river devastated the valley.[1]
