This data base was produced by Sveriges Släktforskarförbund (Federation of Swedish Genealogical Societies) and contains information about all people who were registered in a Swedish parish at the end of the year 1890. Contains 4.8 million people. Information was obtained from the transcripts of the church household examination records, prepared by the parish vicar or clerk and sent to the SCB ¬(Statistiska Centralbyrån in Stockholm). Individuals are grouped in families and households. Information about each person usually includes a name, year of birth, occupation or title, family status, place of residence and birth. Sometimes there are notes about health, legal status or other interesting facts. [Note: This database is in the Swedish language but there is another CD-ROM version in English. The CD-ROM is available at the FamilySearch Library but not at the FamilySearch Centers. It is CD-Rom no. 1564 in the Family Hsitory Library Catalog.

To use at the FamilySearch Library

1. Go to Find Your Ancestors on any patron computer in the library.
2.  Click on Databases at the FamilySearch Library.
3.  Go to CD-ROM 1564 and click on Sveriges befolkning 1890.
4.  Click on CHECK OUT
5.  Read the notice. If you agree click on I ACCEPT.
6.  Click on HERE.
7.  Click on Allow.
8.  Click on Run.
9.  Click on Run.
10.  Click on OK.
11.  Click on OK.
12.  Click on OK.
13.  Click on OK.
14.  Double click on Sveriges befolkning 1890.
