The first Petersboro ward was formed in 1887. In time the ward was dissolved and the members were again part of the Mendon ward. Mendon and Petersboro began to grow in substantial numbers beginning in the 1960s. In time, the Mendon stake was organized and in 2005 the Petersboro Ward was organized and continues to this day.
