Marchwiel, Denbighshire, Wales Genealogy
Marchwiel (Welsh: Marchwiail) is a village, community and ecclesiastical parish in the Wrexham, Wales.
Before 1974 the village was in the historic county of Denbighshire and, between 1874 and 1996 in the County of Clwyd. In 1996 it became part of the modern Wrexham.

"MARCHWIEL (AMRCHWIAIL), a parish in the hundred of Bromfield, county of Denbigh; 2 miles (S.E.) from Wrexham, containing 553 inhabitants. This parish, which is situatied in the eastern part of the county, is intersected by the road from Wrexham, which here branches off to Whitchurch and to Ellesmere." The ancient parish comprised the two townships of Marchwiel and Sontley.
